Communication and Territory Scholarship

A digital tribute to six years of cultural resilience and community storytelling.

Launched in 2018 by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Knowledge of Colombia, the Communication and Territory Scholarship supports peasant, indigenous, afro-descendant, raizal, and palenquero communities in creating media that reflects their own realities — strengthening local communication and cultural identity.

The Challenge

The program had empowered communities for over 6 years — but its impact was scattered across regions, teams, and formats.

They needed a way to:

Our Approach

We treated this as more than a communications product — we saw it as a historical archive and a tool for advocacy.

The Work

Our creative and technical contributions included:

Website Design + Development: accessible, multilingual-ready, and content-rich

Editorial Design: structured a 6-year report into an elegant, digestible narrative

Visual Identity System: culturally grounded palette, typography, and iconography

The Result

A digital platform that documents 6 years of impact

A published document used in public policy, education, and cultural outreach

Renewed visibility and legitimacy for community-led communication in Colombia

Systematize and showcase their results

Tell the story of the program to both government and civil audiences

Create digital tools that were visually powerful and culturally respectful

Designed a website to centralize the program’s achievements

Created a print-ready document that distilled the work done across territories

Developed a visual language rooted in cultural dignity, storytelling, and clarity
